Oh...for the peace and solitude of these splendid domiciles of the deceased. Away from the enfilade of mortal life I wander in faultless placidity. I reflect on the unseen lives shrouded in grass, and dirt, and stone. I dwell upon the bygone times of their lifes journey. The lives they touched, and were touched by. I wonder; and I give them breath again in my mind...
It may sound odd to you but, I love these eternal gardens.

My interest in cemeteries began with my equally as intense study progressed in the area of my Family Genealogy; my love of photography...eternal. Time and time again, I would find myself in one or the other cemetery chasing down folks I may, or may not, have met. I sought what the living could not provide...information. And as any self-respecting professional genealogist or family historian will tell you, the information gathered from  cemetery data and gravestone inscriptions may be all you have, and all you can get. Anyway, so used to looking down, one day I looked up. The flood gate opened. I wandered aimlessly from stone to stone reading what I could salvage from the ravages of the ages; effects of wind and water - acid rain, in particular - having taken their toll. These stone remembrances, and the splendid 'Bernini' styled monuments were fading away, and taking the lives they immortalize with them...dust unto dust. But they were still so magnificent and majestic. Before I knew it, I was in my car heading for the next town - the next cemetery. One after another, a story told. I read every epitaph - a short poetic story composed of so much pain, so much love, so much hope, and so much surrender. I touched  every stone; perhaps to let the occupant know I recognized their existence. Cemeteries are an invaluable tool  on many different levels, not only for genealogical research.

Anyway, do you need help with your genealogical research? Do you live too far away to visit the cemetery or burial place of a loved one or ancestor? Do you need photographs of cemeteries and/or gravestones in order to add to your family history project? Perhaps you desire photographs of churches, homes, schools, businesses and other sites associated with your family history.  I can be of help in your journey of personal discovery. Services also available for cemeteries in the process of developing a gallery for their website; or archaeological projects in need of a photographic documentarian.

I am an experienced professional genealogist and photographer. My research service is intended to serve family history researchers who are unable to travel to get those important photographs in person. Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have about my photography services or professional genealogy research services.
